BusinessMarket UK

How it works

A straightforward, confidential marketplace

BusinessMarket UK connects people looking to buy an established UK business with owners looking to sell one. Listings are reviewed before they go live, business identities are protected until a seller chooses to disclose them, and enquiries go directly between buyer and seller.

If you're buying

  1. 1. Search and filter. Browse businesses for sale by sector, location, price, turnover, profit and more — no account needed to search.
  2. 2. Review a listing. Each listing shows an overview, highlights and a financial summary. Some businesses show their identity publicly; others are anonymised (e.g. “Established Independent Cafe, West London”) until you make contact.
  3. 3. Register and enquire. A free buyer account lets you save businesses, save searches, and send an enquiry directly to the seller.
  4. 4. Hear back from the seller. The seller sees your enquiry in their dashboard and can reply. Your conversation happens in a private thread on the platform — we don't share your contact details without your enquiry.

If you're selling

  1. 1. Value your business (optional). Answer a few questions about your finances and operations for an indicative value range — usually 3–5 minutes.
  2. 2. Add your business details. Register a seller account and complete your business, financial and operational information. It stays private.
  3. 3. Create and submit a listing. Choose what to show publicly, set an asking price, and submit it for review — nothing goes live automatically.
  4. 4. Go live and respond to enquiries. Once approved, your listing appears on the marketplace. You decide how to respond to every enquiry you receive.

Valuations are indicative only

A Value My Business result is not a formal valuation and not a guaranteed sale price. It's a starting point, calculated from the figures you provide.

Confidentiality is built in

An anonymised listing never shows the business's exact name or address publicly. Sellers control when and how that information is shared.
